Carolyn Smith, Manual Osteopath
I became interested in physical therapy during my undergraduate program in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa. While working as a student athletic therapist for the varsity basketball team, I discovered my passion for a hands-on approach to rehabilitation. I went on to study Manual Osteopathy at the National Academy of Osteopathy (NAO) in Toronto.
My therapy style focuses on achieving optimal movement within all joints and their surrounding tissues through using a mix of structural mobilization, soft tissue techniques, and muscle energy techniques (MET). There is often more involved in pain then its presenting symptoms; my focus is to use a holistic (whole-body) approach to treating the underlying cause when possible. My goal is to help my patients enjoy a healthy, pain-free life!
When I’m not practicing or studying Osteopathy, you can find me involved in activities such as yoga, hiking, kayaking, golfing, or exploring new places!
I look forward to meeting with you to help you jump start your therapeutic journey!
