Carolyn Smith, Manual Osteopath

Osteopathy has allowed me to be the type of manual therapist I have always
imagined to be. I graduated with an Honor’s Bachelor degree in Human Kinetics
from the University of Ottawa and then later went on to graduate from the National
Academy of Osteopathy in Toronto. My background in Human Kinetics, Athletic Therapy, personal training, and health
insurance has formed my foundation in the therapy world.

My style has a gentle, holistic (whole-body) approach to treating my client’s vast
histories and current complaints. I use a mix of structural mobilization, soft tissue
therapy, muscle energy techniques (MET), Cranial Osteopathy, and Visceral
Manipulation (VM). The use of these techniques during my sessions will vary, as I
use an individualized approach to treating my clients.

I feel that the use of my hands (manual therapy) has a healing power in itself and
that I am a facilitator in my client’s journey to better health.

In my spare time I enjoy being active outdoors (running, biking, kayaking, hiking,
golfing), spending time with friends and family, and cuddling with my kitten Argo!

I look forward to meeting with you to assist in your journey to healthy living!
