Jessica Zatylny-Koch RMT
Massage therapy has allowed me to practice manual therapy in a safe and comfortable environment while continuing to learn and grow as a therapist. As opposed to other strategies in health care, massage has the ability to create immediate results and help individuals with pain who were unable to get relief otherwise. I plan to obtain as much knowledge as possible about various types of techniques and therapies to help all clients to the best of my ability. I believe my background in nursing has given me the framework for critical thinking and viewing clients as a whole with everything being connected. I treat clients under the full scope of massage therapy techniques but find that I am most passionate about rehabilitation & impairment based massage, myofascial release, as well as decreasing nervous system firing through relaxation focused massage.
When I am not working I enjoy being outside in the sun, spending time with friends and family, being creative and being physically active. I love to crotchet and drink coffee. I grew up in a very rural community in northern Ontario and have a deep appreciation for the city of Ottawa. My future goals include getting a dog, becoming fluent in sign language and eventually taking a course in ashiatsu massage. I look forward to meeting all future clients and to use my understanding to help them reach whatever goals they may have.
